How to block emails with certain words in gmail?

Why?

  • Sometimes you may want to block specific email without blocking the sender completely.
  • Generally that’s the case when application does not let you turn off specific type of email in your notification settings.

How?

  • Then click on Add extension from the pop-up appears.
  • In order to login extension, click on Extensions icon from top-right corner in browser and then click on Block Sender.
  • It will ask you login or sign up, click on sign up.
  • You will be directed to provider your password. Complete the form and then click on sig up. Do not forget the password, you will need to use just in the next step.
  • Then, from the next pop-up, sign in with google:
  • After allowing access, you will be asked to login with the password you provided.
  • Now we are inside the panel, confirm your email to move forward. You should have received email from Block sender. When you click on the link in email, you will be again directed to panel.
  • Click on +Link an account button in order to connect your email account where you want to block emails with certain words.
  • Now we have linked account:
  • Click on Blocks from the left menu to start blocking certain words.
  • After clicking on red plus icon on the top-right corner, a pop-up with settings will appear. In my case, I wanted to block Fiverr emails with the subject of Check this order brief. You’re a match!. So that’s why I picked Subject from the options and provided the whole title there.
  • You can also pick Phrase from the options if you want to block specific part of email title. And that’s all.
